Dude, Where’s My Car?
A few weeks ago I officially became a “Mom That Drives a Mini-Van”, something I had hoped to avoid but nonetheless have recently found necessary to making my life just a little bit easier. After numerous fits and starts, false alarms and tiring trips to the car lot, we found an older, smaller van that had very low miles and decided to take the plunge, the push that finally put us over the edge into “We Cannot Possibly Call Ourselves Young or Hip Any Longer” Land. I like to think of it as more of a large station wagon. Somehow, that makes it just a teeny bit easier to swallow.
Here it is, in all it’s shining new-to-us car glory:
This purchase meant that we finally retired the 1991 Beretta that poor, poor Bubby had been driving to work. Bubby’s cousin, apparently desperate for anything with wheels that would run, took it off our hands and that two hundred dollars disappeared faster than you can say “formula and doctor’s visit”.
Now all I need is a My Kid Can Beat Up Your Honor Student bumper sticker.

Like the overanxious parents-to-be that we were, we ran out and got one when I was pregnant with Natalie. Years passed and I soon started to call it “My Symbol of Infertility” (I believe this is what they call foreshadowing). So I got rid of it. Then I was (infertile). Then I wasn’t (infertile). Long story short, I now pack 3 kids in a nearly 10-year-old boxy Volvo with very low miles and between you and me? I sometimes do think a van would make my life easier. I believe this it what they call irony.
Enjoy it in good health! Just please don’t get those cutesy decals depicting your family. Unless they’re all Dia-de-los-Muertos skeletons drinking tequila, wearing big sombreros, flashing the finger or something. ha ha ha

You guys will always be hip and artsy! …even if you have a whole litter of kids and drive a bus. Hope you’re doing well.
I was beginning to this was becoming a “non-existent” blog…
