School’s (Almost) Out for Summer
On a trip to the teacher/school supply store I came across these “Seashore Friends”, library cards and envelopes. I snapped up the library cards and envelopes to use in my crafty endeavors. I am going to use the seashore shapes to make some sort of banner for Arwyn’s birthday party, which will have a beach theme this year. I love walking around the school supply store, looking at all of the supplies and games and finding little treasures to bring home. It’s a fairly expensive place to shop, so I have to spend wisely.
It brings back a lot of memories of when I was a kid and one of my favorite games to play was school. I was always the teacher, of course. My one and only neighborhood friend was forced to endure a lot of lessons from yours truly (sorry, Brad!). For several years, I even entertained the idea of becoming a real live teacher when I grew up. Nowadays, I don’t know if I would be able to do it seeing as how my patience is normally in pretty short supply. But I wanted to be an art teacher, so my theory was that I wouldn’t be spending all of my time with the same kids, so that would make the whole “patience issue” easier to handle.
Maybe I just need to get a giant bulletin board and decorate it seasonally? Or a part-time job at the school supply store? Or make Arwyn call me Mrs. Horstman?
