Teachers Rock

Arwyn has had a great school year and I wanted to give her teachers a little something to show our appreciation for all of their patience and hard work. After some, ok a lot, of deliberation I decided to make each one a pack of notecards using this template from A Little Hut. Patricia says these are gift tags, but Arwyn isn’t really big enough to write all that much yet other than her name. Well, she could do it if I told her every letter to write, but it would probably involve more frustration on both of our parts than I felt like dealing with! And I think they are big enough to use as small notecards. This is one of the many times when I am so happy to have internet access and so thankful to the wonderful artists who share their work online. I never would have found anything so perfect in a store.

I also included a pencil from the school supply store that says Teacher Appreciation and a bookmark made by yours truly. One bookmark says “live”, one says “love” and one says “laugh”. I tried to stay away from the crafts made by your kid/kitchsy/teachery stuff. The main teacher also gets a gift certificate to the school supply store. They carry a lot of neat stuff, but I have no idea what is needed in their classroom. Their graduation theme was red, white and blue, so that’s how I determined the color scheme.
I thought I would whip these up quickly, but I covered the dining room table with paper and ended up spending most of the morning working on these and really enjoyed it. I might even make a few more. I was pleased with how they turned out. I added a gift tag and tied it all up in a brown paper bag with some baker’s twine.

those look GREAT. I’m glad you’ve been so pleased with the school and that Arwyn has loved it!
