This is what I like to call my Super Dee Duper Movie Filing System for all of those children’s “classics” we have piled up in the white envelopes. They were threatening to take over the living room, so I had to do something. And I had enough patience to last for about an hour, so this is what I came up with.

I took a little inspiration from this lovely creation. There is something about it that speaks to my creative side. I love it when things are in “rainbow order” (ROY G. BIV) and you can see all of the colors at once. Something about that grabs me every time, whether it is a shirt display, pillows, paper, whatever. I am very attracted to this phenomenon for some reason.

I am also all about the alphabetical order. If it were up to me, everything in the house would be alphabetized and rainbowtized. Wouldn’t that be pretty? And orderly?

But I am also a tad impatient and I like for any and all projects to GET DONE ALREADY, so I didn’t take the time to make this overly pretty. I grabbed a ruler, some Sharpies and my scissors and got to work. In between getting up every five minutes to get someone a drink or a yogurt or change the cartoon channel. What am I, a human remote? Um, the answer to that would be yes. Yes, I am. Just like when I was a kid and my brothers called me “Remote Control” because they were 10+ years older than me and they could force me to do just about anything, so they decided to always make me change the channel on the tv. They also called me MD which stood for Miss Disaster, but that’s a story for another time.
