The Anniversary Post
Last weekend Bubby and I headed out of town for our annual anniversary celebration. Every year we dump the kid at Grandma’s house and return to the quaint little town where we were married and stay at their very accommodating inn. We’ve made it five out of the last six years and it is something we look forward to very much. Since we didn’t take a vacation this summer, we were more than ready for a break from the world. And that is exactly what this place is: a retreat. Oh, we still have tv, internet and all of the wonderful modern conveniences we can’t live without, you know like hot water. But there’s not really anything to do there. And that is precisely why we love it.

It is a very small town and we walk wherever we need to go. We always go at the beginning of November and the weather is usually fantastic. They have bikes you can ride around town if you want to. We shop, eat great food, and basically lay around for two days. It is so very relaxing. We leave our worries at home, talk and reconnect.

It seems like I always find new things to photograph, even though we’ve stayed there for six years. Something new always catches my eye. This year I got in trouble for taking so many pictures, although The Bubs went on a solo bike ride one evening and almost ran the battery down on the camera, so apparently I’m not the only one. Everything there is just so photogenic and looks so nice in the soft autumn light. Autumn is my very favorite season and it makes it very easy to fill up a camera when every shot turns out well.

I don’t think either one of us were ready to come back home this year. Maybe we’ll add another night next year. Happy six years, baby.

My first shoe pic. I’ve worn the same pair of shoes every day for the past five days. I think I am missing the point of this exercise.
